Having said that, this is off an incredibly low base, and we are well down on the number of trips on a year-on-year comparison. So what can we do to bring our businesses back to where they were? I believe we are coming into a time of great opportunity, if we play our cards right. With more and more people slowly coming back to work there is a lot of fear in the community regarding public transport. This creates opportunities for the commercial passenger transport operators, as people want to move from place to place in comfort and more importantly in safety. We are now in a time where there is no longer safety in numbers! This is the time to re-build our businesses, from the ground up. None of us can afford to take the level of clientele we used to have for granted and just assume it will magically come back to us. It won’t. Instead, we have to reach out and let our clients know that we are still here, are available for work, and that we have their safety as our number one priority. Now, more than ever, our businesses are about us, as individuals. Now is the time to redevelop our personal networks, our personal connections both with our clients and with other drivers who we trust and know will look after our clients like they are their own.
